Michigan Maritime Celebration

The Purpose of the Michigan Maritime Celebration is to enjoy what we in Michigan call the “Lake Effect”. From great boating events, great eats, music and beverages to maritime history and tours, everybody can enjoy and be effected. Invite your friends and family to Muskegon, Michigan and enjoy a slice of Pure Michigan!

Community Paddle – Saturday, August 20 2016 @ 10am

Muskegon KayakJoin Kayaks, Canoes, Stand Up Paddles and more as we celebrate the awesome paddle communities in around Michigan including Muskegon. Roger Zuidema from Lake Effect Boating, Dave Alaxander of the Downtown Muskegon Now and Guy Debor will lead the fun.

Where? Muskegon Lake Beach at Harbour Towne Marina

Pirate Pub Pedal – Saturday, August 20 @ 1:00pm

Pirate PeddlePirate Pub Pedal: Along the Shores of Muskegon! Invite your friends! Shiver me timbers and Sail ho as you pedal your bikes along the Shores of Muskegon with family and friends. Dress up like pirates and experience fun “Pirate Stops” where you can enjoy some Pirate Pillage, Hooked Up Fun, along with Shenanigans. Bring your water toys and get ready to ambush other Pirates along the trail. Pirates are asked to have water fun, spraying water toys to cool off other Pirates. Fun can be had as you pass each other along the trail, along with Pirate Stop activity. Defend your rights and cool the Matey’s down.

Saturday, August 20th 
1:00 pm – Get your group together and enjoy some great stops along the way.

Family Bike Peddle – Saturday, August 20 @ 1:00pm

LST 393 Ship MuskegonAlong the Shores of Muskegon! Saturday, August 20th 1:00 pm – Start Downtown or at the beaches. Get your group together and enjoy some great stops along the way. Shiver me timbers and Sail ho as you pedal your bikes along the Shores of Muskegon with family and friends. Dress up like pirates and experience fun “Pirate Stops” where you can enjoy some Pirate Pillage, Hooked Up Fun, along with Shenanigans. Lakeside: Lakeside Emporium Candy Stop, Max and Marly’s, Frosty Cove Ice Cream, Milwaukee Clipper
Beaches: Pere Marquette Beach, The SouthBreakwater Arm, South Pier Lighthouse, USS Silversides, The Beach at Harbour Towne Marine.

LED Lights Boat Parade – August 20th @ 8:30pm

Lake Effect Lights Boat ParadeBoats are asked to gather in the South Breakwater Cove around dusk around 8:30pm, the parade will start around 9pm. The 2016 parade route will take the boats through the Channel into Muskegon Lake, into Harbour Towne Marina, by Dockers, past Muskegon Yacht Club, and to Balcom’s Cove, into Great Lakes Marina. Boats will then travel down the lake by Hartshorn Marina, Heritage Landing and Terrace Point marina completing the route.

Boat Raft-up and Celebration Party

Boat fun MuskegonEvery weekend boaters gather with family and friends to have fun along the west shoreline of Muskegon Lake. Join the fun as we Celebrate another fantastic Michigan summer day in Muskegon Michigan. Just a reminder that the Muskegon State Park is an alcohol free park. Please keep adult beverages in legal areas of the Water.

Sunday, August 21st Boat Jam from 2pm to 6pm 
Muskegon Boaters Dune Area (Docking at the Dune)
Bring your games, food and beverage as we celebrate a Michigan boating tradition. Rafting with family and friends.

Saturday, August 20th Pre – Celebration Raft-up!
