Expand the Pere Marquette Boardwalk Campaign
Expand the Pere Marquette Boardwalk Campaign Pere Marquette Beach is one of Muskegon’s treasures. Shouldn’t all Muskegon residents enjoy it? We agree. Your donation can help. Disability Network West Michigan, the Community Foundation for Muskegon County, and people like you are getting together to raise money for a boardwalk across Pere Marquette beach. This will give people in our community unprecedented access to Lake Michigan. Donate today. Please consider purchasing a board to expand the accessible beach boardwalk at Pere Marquette Beach! The engraved boards are only $50, and includes free 20 characters of engraving. What a great way to remember a special person, anniversary or event in your life while at the same time expanding access to the beach for all! Thank you for your support! The photos below show a project we completed for an accessible walkway to the edge of Lake Michigan at Stearns Park in Ludington. We want the same for Muskegon residents. Our goal is to make it possible for everyone to be able to get to the water’s edge. Visit the Disability Network West Michigan’s website to make a donation. http://dcilmi.org/pere-marquette-boardwalk Like and Share with your friends and family!

Lakeshore Art Festival – July 4th & 5th For decades, art has been a driving force in downtown Muskegon. The Lakeshore Art Festival continues that tradition with a unique blend of arts, crafts, music, food and fun along the scenic shoreline. The Lakeshore Art Festival features hundreds of artists and crafters, a Children’s Lane, street performers and a food area including an Artisan Food Market and festival food favorites. In 1961 Hackley Park became the center for a large scale art and craft show known as Muskegon Art in the Park. In 2013, the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce took the local Art in the Park event to the next level with the creation of the Lakeshore Art Festival! Featuring a unique blend of arts, crafts, music, food and fun along the shoreline in historic Downtown Muskegon. Hundreds of artists and crafters will be showcased with fine art in the park, crafts, children’s activities and an Artisan Food Market all wrapped up in a street party atmosphere. Every time you finally seem to get on the right track, something comes along and trips you up. Does this describe you? The apostle Paul described his own feelings in exactly the same way during his struggle with sin. In a world of imperfect people, our greatest hope is in a perfect God. Western Michigan Teen Challenge is one path that will show you how to throw down the lifestyle of addiction and live in God’s will. A compassion and burden for the Teen Challenge Ministry was birthed in the heart of Reverend Phillip McClain in 1966 as he read a book by David Wilkerson, “The Cross and the Switchblade”. After reading, he immediately began a street ministry. From 1968 to 1970, he served as a pastor in Whitehall, Michigan but his burden for street ministry and the desperate constrained him to resign from his position at the church in 1970.
