The Muskegon Mustangs are a professional minor league football team. We are based out of Muskegon Michigan and play at Oakridge High School. The Muskegon Mustangs were formed by an 9 person voting board after the 2012 season. Seven players from two other organizations from the Muskegon area decided that our home town needed a quality football team. The original founding members of the Mustangs are Aaron James, Holsey James, Kim Brown, Stephan Betts, Maurice Sherrill, Rich Evans and Jason Schmiedeknecht. Shortly after our first meetings we quickly realized we needed a couple of minds that had a bit more business experience. It was at that time the board approached Richard and Kay Evans to be a part of the organization. Immediately they all knew we had the right group to run their organization. After months of developing the business and recruiting athletes, the Mustangs were able to showcase what they believed was a top notch team in May of 2013. All of their thoughts and expectations were quickly realized as the team started to compile win after win. In the 2013 season the team finished the regular season with a 10-2 record and earned a birth in the 2013 […]

Radium Photo was founded in 1909 by Charles Cihak and his brother Joe Cihak on Western Avenue in downtown Muskegon. In the early years, Radium Photo mainly specialized in selling photography equipment, portrait shooting, and eventually school portraits. In 1961, Charles Cihak II bought Radium Photo from his father, continuing in his fathers footsteps and keeping up with the times. While Radium Photo had multiple locations on Western Avenue, in the mid 1970′s, Radium Photo moved to its current location at the corner of Terrace St. and Clay Ave. Currently owned by Charles Cihak III, and managed by Charles Cihak IV, Radium Photo has grown from a once retail/portrait studio to the area’s leading professional photography lab, as well as the premier school portrait and sports photography business in West Michigan. 103 years young, and four generations strong, Radium Photo is the only of its kind in Michigan’s photographic industry. With three pregnant daughters it was bound to happen. My oldest daughter Jana was calling me daily with cravings for my home cooked meals. It appeared she couldn’t resist, and she even laid a “you can’t deprive your grand baby of the food she wants” tactic. This was the beginning or so it seemed. About a year after the babies were born, Jana’s and Amanda’s businesses in the wedding industry began to take off. It wasn’t much later that they convinced Kevin and I that our cooking had great potential, and that we should join them in this family venture. Jana being an event coordinator helped lead the way into the wedding industry world of Catering. We immediately booked 6 weddings to begin the first year adventure. Success was the outcome, and we are always ready for more! Together with The Great Event we offer the “One Stop Shop” for all of your wedding needs. From catering your meals, to providing you with the best service on the market. You will not find another Catering service like us. Dk Catering strives to provide only excellence above and beyond expectations. We work with budgets and create custom menu’s for each of our […]

You’ve tried to change, but you can’t. You try to do the right thing, but you do the wrong things anyway. Every time you finally seem to get on the right track, something comes along and trips you up. Does this describe you? The apostle Paul described his own feelings in exactly the same way during his struggle with sin. In a world of imperfect people, our greatest hope is in a perfect God. Western Michigan Teen Challenge is one path that will show you how to throw down the lifestyle of addiction and live in God’s will. A compassion and burden for the Teen Challenge Ministry was birthed in the heart of Reverend Phillip McClain in 1966 as he read a book by David Wilkerson, “The Cross and the Switchblade”. After reading, he immediately began a street ministry. From 1968 to 1970, he served as a pastor in Whitehall, Michigan but his burden for street ministry and the desperate constrained him to resign from his position at the church in 1970. Soon after he founded Western Michigan Teen Challenge. He began by training street teams from area churches for evangelism. They strategically infiltrated the teen hangouts, streets, parks and beaches […]
